Our Story
Hi, I'm Clay Anderson. When my kids were a bit younger, we would frequent the library and come home with teetering stacks of picture books. Honestly, I think I enjoyed them as much as the kids did. Children's books can be magical and charming and poignant and funny and important — all at once. A good book can accomplish so much in just a few hundred words.
So I had the passing idea to write a book for each of my kids. I had no dreams of publishing at the time, it was just a sentimental gesture.
Well...that changed.
I connected with an incredible community of indie authors, many of whom have become dear friends. I published a few books and sales took off. And now, this has become my passion and my livelihood.
I’m immensely grateful to my wonderful wife, Karen, for cheering me on, and to our two daughters and two sons who are still always excited to see what's coming next.
We live in the Chicago suburbs — in the very house where I grew up. Before launching Swing High, I spent 20-some years in IT, served two stints as a youth pastor, and I still work with kids and youth every week. It keeps me (mostly) young!
